About the HDA

The purpose of the Hamilton Downtown Association (HDA) is to re-invest in and maintain the vitality of the Hamilton business community, to promote Hamilton as a cultural, historic, entertainment and business destination, to reach out to the residents of the valley to educate them on our products and services and the importance of supporting local businesses, and to contribute to the vitality and well-being of our community.

Established in 2011, the HDA is supported by annual membership dues and event proceeds. The board is chosen by its members which includes businesses, non-profits, and individuals.

Strategic Goals

  1. Service and support of membership by creating meaningful opportunities for members to engage with the downtown community,

  2. Promote the interests of the membership in a professional and community-oriented manner,

  3. Become the lead organization responsible for Downtown advocacy and implementation of the Downtown Master Plan,

  4. Beautification of Hamilton’s Main Street corridor through the flower baskets and the light pole banners, maintaining a strong partnership with the DHBID and City of Hamilton and creating a welcoming and clean atmosphere in the heart of the city.

  5. Develop the financial stability of the organization in order to have the resources to achieve programming and strategic priorities.

At nearly 150 members strong, the HDA continues to be a source of unity among Downtown businesses, nonprofits, and the broader Hamilton community.
